This welcome development is reported to be one outcome of relatively positive discussions between the management of the college and trade unions representing the concerned employees’ interests.

The Antigua Trades and Labour Union (AT&LU) and the Antigua and Barbuda Public Service Association (ABPSA), who have been lobbying on behalf of the staff, have finally gotten some commitments from ASC management to improve working conditions.

The commitments do not consist of the drastic actions that the unions recommended and were expecting. Instead, the staff will be relocated to an area that – hopefully – is in much better condition, until the necessary repairs to the administrative building are done.
