Spanish Heat snap Dream Chasers’ undefeated run, Ovals club suffers double losses

Spanish Heat handed Dream Chasers their first loss of the season in the 3rd Division of the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) league on Tuesday night.

Playing at JSC, Spanish Heat defeated Dream Chasers 81-70 in the first match of the double-header evening.

Kelvin Pimental led the charge for the victors netting 18 points.

He was assisted by Rolando Hamilton who made 13 and grabbed 24 rebounds while William Thomas chipped in scoring 12 and snatching 11 rebounds.

Brauilio Estrada had a game high 23 points, 12 rebounds and five steals for the losing team.

Jesus Lopez and Steadroy “Happy” Graham also got in on the action banking 18 points.

Police Vertex recorded their first win of the season trouncing CJ Communications Young Warriors 70-45.

Gavin Walker had a stellar performance for the lawmen scoring a game high 31 points, grabbing 16 rebounds and making four block shots.

Eugene Remo assisted netting 12 and snatching 10 rebounds, while teammates Jair Benta and Kevorn “Chowder” Jackson both scored 10 points.

Irwin Mills was the leading scorer for Young Warriors with 21 points.

Jahred James had 16 points and 12 rebounds in a losing effort.

Meanwhile, in Ovals, both the 2nd and 3rd division F and G Trading Cuties Ovals Ojays team suffered losses.

Ovals III went under to the undefeated Court Marshals, 68-47.

Daniel Thomas and Baldwin Anthony Jr led the 5-0 team with 18 points.

Anthony grabbed an additional 19 rebounds while Thomas snatched 10 rebounds and recorded six assists.

Teammates, Delornje Jules and Kenney James chipped in making 14 and 13 points, respectively.

Ovals’ Daniel Perez was the lone player in double figures banking 25 points with an additional 13 rebounds, six steals and five assists.

Max Fernandez Gunners handed Ovals II their third loss of the Division 2 season beating them 62-56 in the feature encounter.

Olivee’ Morris led the victors with 18 points and seven rebounds while teammates Tyler Jacobs and Keaddy Martin contributed scoring 12 and 10 points respectively.

Ovals’ Benjamin Meade had 14 points, Daniel Perez 12 and Curl Simon 11.

Simon grabbed an additional 17 rebounds.
