The winner in this year’s thrilling RORC 600 sailing race has claimed line honours with an elapsed time of one day, 21 hours and 34 seconds.

Peter Cunningham, second from left and the crew of PowerPlay, a British MOD70 multihull, celebrate crossing the finish line first in the 2020 edition of the annual 600-mile dash around the Caribbean.

The second boat to finish was Jason Carroll’s MOD70 Argo. Wind conditions this year were light and PowerPlay’s time was well off the record set last year by Italy’s Maserati.

Boats will be finishing the race at Fort Charlotte for the next three days. Visit www.caribbeanRORC.org to track the race. (Photo and text by Edwin Gifford)
