The police are continuing their investigations into the discovery of human skeletal remains in a septic tank on premises at Ffryes Estate on Tuesday night.

However, Police public relations officer Inspector Frankie Thomas said it too early in the investigation for the police to determine the identity of the skeleton, which, according to reports, appears to be that of a male.

The human remains were reportedly discovered between 5 pm and 6 pm by an unidentified person who had just returned to the island when the discovery was made.

Inspector Thomas told OBSERVER that the homeowner had called a sewage truck to clean the tank, and upon encountering some issues, the sewage company personnel discovered the human remains inside, along with other items.

“Since then, the police are carrying out their investigations into that. The forensic team has already been on the scene and are conducting an investigation into that.

“It is premature at this point to predict or to say whose skeletal remains they are until a full investigation is carried out into the matter,” the Police Inspector said.
