Five local boxers will fly the flag of Antigua and Barbuda at the Great Bay Sports Auditorium in St. Maarten this week as they compete in the Battle of the Islands Creole Boxing tournament.
The tournament which is expected to run from July 4 to 6, will see over 20 boxers from 18 Caribbean countries compete in the various weight categories for top supremacy.
Jeremiah Toussaint, 17, will compete in the youth Lightweight category while Joshua Toussaint, 19, and Uriah Desilva, 19, will battle in the elite Lightweight and novice Lightweight segments.
Twenty-six-year-old Lance Robinson will compete in the Middleweight section while Tabeti Joseph, 18, will duke it out in the youth Featherweight division.
The team, which left yesterday, is accompanied by Head Coach Anthony Severin, Assistant Coach Archibald Richards and Team Manager Khalid Shabazz.
