Licence printer still down

ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Drivers seeking to renew their licences have to wait yet another week because the printer used to produce the cards is still out of commission.

That was the report from Transport Board yesterday when OBSERVER media made enquiries about whether the week-old problem was fixed.

Reports indicate authorities are still awaiting the delivery of the part needed to repair the printer.

The equipment was damaged while being transported from the agency’s old Factory Road headquarters to the new Herbert’s facility on January 6.

Despite the problem, Transport Board is still taking applications and fees for new licences and licence renewals.

At least three drivers said they were advised to keep their receipts as proof they paid for the new/renewed licence and are therefore not driving illegally.
