The 2015 Digicel/Cool & Smooth Business League Basketball season inched even closer to its halfway point with a full hand of five games played Tuesday night.
Tuesday night’s action saw 3Ds Playtime Snackette Double up Empire Landscaping 72 – 36, with Kareem Edward’s 22 points leading the way.
Russell Daly had 20 in defeat, more than half of his team’s points.
Following that game, Digicel beat Antigua & Barbuda Airport Authority 61 – 49, powered by George Francis’s 20-point display.
With that loss, Airport Authority remains winless on the season, now with nine straight defeats.
On the other end of the standings, 2014 champs Kennedys Blue Diamond ran their perfect record to 10 – 0 by beating St James’s Club 78 – 50 Tuesday, led by Shawn Nicholas’s 16 points.
In Tuesday’s other two games, Lennox McCoy’s 21 points propelled Burton’s Laundry to a 61 to 59 win over Sandals; and L&S Superette Penetrators bettered Destiny’s Cleaning Services 78 to 72, with Walton Christian’s 24 points paving the way.
Kennedys would try to remain perfect against Police Vertex Wednesday night, as another five games were in action, but scores were unavailable up to press time.
After Tuesday’s set of games, Kennedys led the league (10 – 0), with ABBA Executive (7 – 1) and Digicel (7 – 1) in hot pursuit.
Board of Education (1 – 4, 1 forfeit), Airport Authority (0 – 9), and APUA Water (1 – 7) were league basement-boys as of Tuesday; with the eighth and final playoff spot being occupied – for now – by Empire Landscaping (4 – 5).
As the all-star break approaches this weekend, all the teams will look to stay on – or finally get on – the right track, in the quest for Workplace Basketball supremacy.
