Jennings players shine in draw with AGS in schools cricket

Jennings Secondary School (JSS) and the Antigua Grammar School (AGS), played to a draw in the Under-19 Two Day Schools Cricket Competition on Tuesday.

Batting first, AGS were all out for 119 in 33.5 overs in their first innings with Malique Jacobs hitting 23 and Devon Brandon contributing 21. Bowling for JSS, Micah McKenzie snatched four wickets for 42 runs in nine overs. There were also two wickets each for Glenton Williams, Matthew Miller and Tanez Francis.

In their first innings reply, Jennings amassed 282 all out in 62 overs. Jahiem Africa led the score with 63 runs, while Travis Austin made 54. Glenton Williams (46), Dahri Francis (44) and Matthew Miller (25) also contributed to the total.

There were two wickets each for Marcus Williams, Shamar Periera and Malique Jacobs bowling for AGS. The Grammarians were 42 for five in their second innings before play ended on day two. Devon Brandon was on 12 while Glenton Williams had claimed three wickets for 19 runs and Matthew Miller had two for 12 bowling for Jennings.
