A sting operation by the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP) led to an arrest of a local businessman, last evening, after cocaine was found inside his Jolly Harbour villa
The suspect, whose name cannot be published since he has not yet been charged, reportedly operates a car rental company, which mainly caters to tourists.
An eyewitness said officers from the ONCDP swooped down on the man’s home some time around 3 pm yesterday and up to 6 pm they were still there investigating.
“They took him out of the house and they were searching the place. They came out with several bags and went back in a few times, the witness reported.
A well-placed source said the items the officers took were evidence bags containing the cocaine.
The authorities had not yet weighed the class A drug at the time of going to press, but OBSERVER media understands several packages were discovered.
Head of the ONDCP Colonel Edward Croft told OBSERVER media he could not comment on the matter since investigations are underway.
