The application process will soon begin for students who wish to pursue tertiary education and wish to access loans to fund their studies.
Starting Monday, March 1, the National Student Loan Fund (NSLF) will be accepting applications from those desirous of pursuing undergraduate studies, graduate studies, post-secondary/technical education, and vocational education.
According to a release, the fund, launched by the Government of Antigua & Barbuda under the Finance Administration Act – National Student Loan Fund Regulations 2008, provides loans of up to $50,000, at an interest rate of 3 per cent. To date, more than 180 students have borrowed from the Fund.
Information relating to the NSLF, as well as the application forms, may be downloaded from the Government of Antigua & Barbuda website: HYPERLINK “http://” www.antigua.gov.ag
However, as of March 2, application forms may also be collected from the Ministry of Finance Headquarters, the Ministry of Education and the Undergraduate Department at the Antigua State College.
Barbudan students may collect application forms from the Barbuda Council.
In order to benefit from the resources provided through the NSLF for the 2010/2011 academic year, students are invited to submit their applications on or before Friday, May 7, to: National Student Loan Fund (NSLF) Secretariat, Ministry of Finance, the Economy and Public Administration, Parliament Drive, St John’s.
