CASTRIES, St Lucia, CMC – The World Bank Trust Fund for Statistical Capacity Building and the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) are providing funds for a five-day training workshop on household survey methods for the sub-regional Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS).
The April 16-20 workshop to be held in St. Lucia will be attended by staff members of the various national statistics offices in the OECS and is part of an ongoing World Bank supported technical assistance project aimed at enabling the nine-member sub-regional grouping to produce a harmonised regional household survey in accordance with international best quality standards.
“This training activity is the first in a series planned to culminate in a harmonised approach to the regular collection, documentation and dissemination of household survey data in OECS Member States,” said Sean Curtis Mathurin, a senior official at the st. Lucia based OECS Secretariat.
