St. John’s Antigua- Any discussion surrounding a pre-carnival fete of class and sophistication would no doubt include last weekend’s White Fete. And what an event it was with the proof of its beauty being in the details, the little things that so many organisers ignore when planning events of this nature.

The parking arrangements were immaculate, as motorists made use of a sizeable plot of land and traffic security on hand to avoid any parking discomfort.

Then a nice stroll to the Sand Piper Hotel on your choice of a well paved driveway or manicured lawn. Beautiful People’s Angels, Gods and Goddesses met you at the entrance. But it was only upon entering the building that it became evident that Party Flavour’s presentation of “The Ultimate Party Experience” lived up to its name.

Dubbed ”The Caribbean Snow Storm” it seemed like no expense was spared to create that atmosphere. Confetti adorned the night sky and drapes of white material decorated the walls giving a feeling that was cozy at least and exhilarating at best.

No less than four separate bars to choose from including an air-conditioned one sponsored by Absolute Vodka. Drinks were unlimited and served with a smile most times.

The White Fete, in its 11th year, is one of the more popular and quintessential theme parties that occur in Antigua & Barbuda. This year, it seemed like the entire nation attended, people from all walks of life with undeniably one thing in common, their white outfits. Surely attendees went all out to look the part, it was one of those ‘see and be seen’ events.

Tizzy was the headline act for the night and she too came out in all her splendour, taking not-so-sober fans on a musical journey.

There were vendors, VIP, bottle service, beautiful people in all white, and non-stop music all night

If there was one complaint, it’s that the party ended too early, just after 4am on Sunday morning, much to the disappointment of some fans who wanted to see the sun rise. (By Brenton Henry)
