La Bussola Willikies Warriors bounced back with a victory over Potters Tigers on Thursday in the Antigua & Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) First Division race for promotion.
The men from the east, playing at Potters, beat the Tigers by a goal to nil. It was a welcome relief for them after three straight defeats.
Justin Nicholas scored the lone goal in the sixth minute from a bungle in the Potters’ goal area. The win took the third placed team to 34 points.
In the other matches played on Thursday, Freeman’s Ville and Guydadli Travellers played to a goalless draw at Freeman’s Ville, while at YASCO, Kraft/Bargain Centre Young Warriors and Bethesda played to a one-all draw. Romario Braithwaite scored the goal for Bethesda.
The finish line is not too far away, and Swetes, now on 41 points, are determined to stay in front.
Bullets are not far behind on 38 points, followed by Willikies.
Potters remain on 24 points, Golden Stars of Urlings on 21 points and Young Warriors on 12 points.
First Division action continues tomorrow.
