Calypso Tent opens

It’s what calypso lovers have been looking forward to all year… Tonight is the first session of Golden Eye Calypso Revue for the Carnival season. Come see reigning calypso monarch De Bear, Scorpion, King Zachary, Fiah, Kimmie, Kaseba, Artist, Lord Satellite, Lypstick and many more calypsonians. Action starts at 9 pm at The Palms, Fort Road.

‘The Addiction’

This event, put on by ASA Promotions is set for tonight at “The Yard” (upper St Mary’s Street). Expect an overload of music by three of Antigua’s hypest DJs: DJ Virus, Selecta J and DJ Jime.  Action starts at 9 pm. $30 at the gate.

Leggz Fete

It goes without saying that the dress code for this one is shorts. And while some people will be checking out legs, others will be seeing soca artists Rupee, Blood (from Square One) share the stage with Jashan Hughes, Tian Winter, Burning Flames and dancehall artist Konshens.  The action at Miller’s by the Sea starts at 10 pm. $50 gets you in at the gate.

Wine Fete

It’s an affair for the sophisticated adults. Drink of choice, of course, is wine. Entertainment will be provided by Spirited Band, which boasts the longest and sweetest electric slide soca style. DJ: the popular Serpent. Lots to eat and drink in this all-inclusive event. The venue is the President’s Suite of Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Grounds. $100 gets you in.

Launch of Blue Devils 2012

Blue Devils J’Ouvert Troupe is ready and rearing to go for Carnival 2012. The launch is staking place this Sunday in front of The Source clothing store from 12 pm. Passing through will be Claudette, Ricardo Drue, Jashan Hughes, DJ Jime and Ibis the Livest.  Dress code: wear your old Blue Devils t-shirts.
