Party with Beautiful People

Beautiful People Mas’ Camp is the place to be tonight and every Friday leading up to Carnival for the after-work jam called “XANADU,” featuring TKO formerly Tonik Band with Laurena Davis and Elite Sound with DJs Dymond and Biggy.  Barbecue on the grill with a well stocked bar, games, music, food and family. Admission is free.

 

Fishing Tournament Begins

Fishing and seafood enthusiasts will this weekend converge at Nelson’s Dockyard for the 46th Antigua & Barbuda Sports Fishing Tournament. Activities begin tonight with the Captains Briefing at 7 pm. Come see the boats getting ready for the big event. Tomorrow and Sunday are the first and second day of fishing while Monday is the Antigua & Barbuda Marlin Classic. Lots of seafood to eat and buy.

Anglican Food Fair

St John’s Cathedral invites the general public to attend the 24th Annual Food Fair tomorrow from 2-6 pm. Tickets are $20. Come enjoy food from all the islands as well as a bounce castle, cathedral gift shop, auction sale, music, and many more attractions. Support this fund-raising effort for the restoration of St John’s Cathedral.

 

Women of Antigua

Women Of Antigua (WOA) will be presenting Vagina Monologues tomorrow and the locally produced When A Woman Moans on Sunday, May 27. Both productions will be at the Multipurpose Cultural and Exhibition Centre, Perry Bay, beginning at 8:05 pm, with an exhibition and special video presentations from 6:45 pm. For a weekend of activism on stage, one night is $40, and two nights, $70. Proceeds will be donated to local charities. Tickets can be purchased at both branches of the Best of Books, Flo’s Perfumery and the Pink Mongoose. Urlings Moravian Food Fair

The Urlings Moravian Church is having its Whit Monday Food Fair Monday, on the Church Grounds from 11 am until… There will be food, drinks, musical entertainment and the bounce castle for the children.  Come and support a worthy cause.  Proceeds are in aid of completing our Church

 

Pork and Wine Fest

It’s going down at Darkwood Beach Whit Monday. All the pork and wine you want to consume… plus attractions for the children starting at 10 am and featuring Tian Winter and High Tempa Band.

 

Find your Beach Bash

Castaway’s Jolly Harbour will come alive from 10 am to 10 pm Whit Monday, with beach activities including wari, hula hoop contest, pineapple bowling, limbo contest, tug-o-war, beach volleyball and more.   Performances by Claudette Peters and top DJs including TJ, Irish, and DJ Blaze from St Maarten. Hosts are Zugu and Gee Money from St Maarten.

 

Caribana in Full Swing

Lots of festivities over on the sister isle, with the staging of Caribana over the next four days.  So get to Barbuda however you can to take it all in – pageantry, calypso, j’ouvert, indigenous cuisines, beach bashes, etc, etc. Activities are being held under the theme, “Resurrecting the Bu-yard Roots and Culture for 2012” and are centred on the sister isle’s cultural heritage.
