Three alleged bandits shot and killed

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, July 16, CMC – Police said three men, including one wanted in connected with a double murder, were shot and killed in Carapo, in Arima, east of here on Monday.

Police Information Officer Sergeant Wayne Mystar told the daily news briefing that the shooting occurred at around 8.00 am (local time) and that villagers had called the authorities after hearing gunshots.

He said the police on arrival at the scene “observed two men lying in a yard with what appeared to be gunshot about their body. Both men were identified as Nigel Clarke, 35, and Arnold Harigage, 32”.

He said further investigations revealed that 25-year-old Ricardo Marshall had been found in the area and taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

“One of the men was wanted in connection with a double murder that occurred earlier this year,” he said without identifying the man.

So far this year, 220 people have been murdered here.
