St. John’s Antigua- Maginley Blue Jays and Hankook Flyers recorded impressive victories in the Cool & Smooth, Stag and inet Antigua & Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) leagues at JSC Sports Complex on Thursday night.
Ives Knowles scored 14 points as Blue Jays flew past Rom Gut G-Block, 67-51, in a Division Two match-up. Gerrard Symester chipped in with 12 points and Shawn Thomas contributed 11 points and 22 superb rebounds for the victors.
Romel Diggs had 14 points and seven boards while Frankie Lewis produced 12 points and seven rebounds for G-Block.
Flyers soared past Dwight Gardener Yogi Warriors, 66-45, in their Division One encounter with Mark Samuel scoring 14 points for the winners.
Darnel Azelle sank 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Chaz Samuel chipped in with 10 points, six boards, four steals and four assists for Flyers.
Ikah Grayman converted 16 points and snatched six boards; Joel Joseph sank 11 points and pulled down nine rebounds, and Charles Baltimore scored 10 points for Yogi Warriors.
The First Division league continues with a double-header at JSC this evening. Newfield Tapers will take on Yorks Crushers at 6:45 pm and Akhimo will clash with Coast Outlaws at 8:15 pm.
Two more First Division games will take place at JSC on Sunday. New Thriving Roots will challenge Inet Ottos at 6:45 pm and Big Banana Express will clash with Hankook Flyers at 8:15 pm.
