I was very heartened to see the police step up proactively to host the Town Meeting in Villa on Thursday night.

This kind of community interaction is essential in keeping citizens aware of their role in fighting crime, as well as familiarising themselves with the people who are there to protect them.

I would hope that these types of meetings would be held in other villages and neighbourhoods, so the message gets through to everyone.

Maybe, just maybe, we all can help lessen the incidences of crime.
