End in sight for risk pay impasse for PWD workers

Union Gives PWD Ultimatum


The Public Works Department (PWD) is on two weeks’ notice to deliver the risk pay demanded by those in its trades departments or to find out what the Antigua Trades and Labour Union (AT&LU) means by “We reserve the right to take whatever action we deem appropriate within the laws of Antigua & Barbuda.”

Accused in latest road death gets bail


“Let him explore how he’d get it,” was the advice Magistrate Keith Thom gave to attorney John Fuller yesterday when the lawyer questioned how his client Andy Daniel would come up with the $15,000 cash requisite he had to pay as part of his $30,000 bail for causing the death of Glenford Martin by dangerous driving.

Accident Victim Dies


It was about 11:40 am, Saturday, while worshipping at Old Road Seventh Day Adventist Church that Lorna “Ophelia” Martin received a call from Mount St John’s Medical Centre, which informed her that she needed to return immediately to her husband’s bedside.

Be responsible road users


Last week I witnessed something that has urged me to be more cautious as a driver and pedestrian, and something that made it clearer to me that some drivers only care about making money, moreso than the safety of other road users and their passengers.
