Port workers upped the ante yesterday, refusing to work despite having struck a deal with management of the Port Authority on Monday.

Around 20 workers at Antigua Energy Operators, a subsidiary of the energy company Wartsila, located on Crabbs Peninsula, went on strike on Wednesday, to demand a salary increase they say is owed to them.

Up to late yesterday there had been no resolution or progress in a pay dispute that resulted in a complete work stoppage by about 100 Antigua-based employees of LIAT.
