The construction of a multiple lane highway to connect English Harbour with St John’s city is one of a number of projects included in a national land use plan that will be discussed at consultations today.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry wants government to introduce a stimulus package for the private sector, a request that follows members reporting that they are facing major challenges in navigating the current economic and financial turmoil.

The private sector is hoping that implementation of its proposals for stimulating the sector can begin by the end of June.
