Private/public partnership builds new classroom


Recently Ron Budacz, representing the Jumby Bay Homeowners and the Shark Bait Swim, opened a new classroom at the Adele School for special children in St John’s. The two organisations provided most of the funds to build the new structure.

No formal decision taken for non-Antiguans to pay school fees


The controversial idea of having non-Antiguan students pay school fees is just that – an idea. Director of Education Jacintha Pringle, in seeking to clarify statements she made two days prior, said the idea emerged from a meeting and had not even been brought to the Minister of Education or the Cabinet.

Pringle: teachers to be redeployed to solve shortage problem


The shortage of teachers will be exacerbated in the upcoming academic year since many of them will be attending the Teacher Training Department at Antigua State College as the Ministry of Education attempts to fulfil its goal of having every teacher trained by 2013.
