Twelve years after making a blunder by erasing the offence of driving without a licence from the law books, parliament has moved to correct its error.

Hundreds, if not thousands, of people convicted for driving without licences over the last 12 years may be entitled to legal redress – as government accidentally removed the offence and penalties from the Vehicles and Road Traffic Act.

A resident of a home for the elderly has been remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison after police arrested and charged him with serious indecency of an 82-year-old woman who also lives at the same place.

One of the youth charged with the attempted murder of the 15-year-old girl who was stabbed multiple times earlier this month has been granted bail, but whether he can afford the $50,000 bond of the $100,000 bail is another matter.

Two Villa youth were yesterday charged for wounding the 15-year-old Nut Grove girl, whom they allegedly stabbed over 40 times, with intent to murder her.
