It is said that one man’s sorrow is another’s joy and that was certainly the case on Sunday when defeat for Swetes FC meant automatic promotion into the Premier Division football competition for La Bussola Willikes FC.

Pigotts Bullets FC, though going down 2-1 to Potters Tigers in their final match of the season at Antigua Recreation Grounds (ARG), gained automatic promotion to the Antigua & Barbuda Football Association Digicel & OBSERVER Media Group Premier Division football competition for the 2011/12 season.

La Bussola Willikies edged three points closer to promotion into Premier Division when they came from a goal down to defeat Freeman’s Village 2-1 in the feature match of a First Division triple-header at Antigua Recreation Grounds (ARG) on Saturday.

One member of Swetes FC, Jamale Pringle, says his team will simply have to pick themselves up once more and look towards their next match in the Antigua & Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) First Division football competition.

La Bussola Willikies came from behind on Sunday, to pull off a 2-2 draw with leaders Swetes when they met in their anticipated First Division fixture at Antigua Recreation Grounds.

There will be no Premier Division football competition this weekend.

La Bussola Willikies Warriors bounced back with a victory over Potters Tigers on Thursday in the Antigua & Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) First Division race for promotion.

Bethesda FC came out on top in the only First Division contest to materialise on Tuesday after the other two fixtures were abandoned.
