Over one million dollars worth of marijuana and cocaine went up in flames yesterday, as police had their first drug destruction for 2012 at the Burma Dump site.

The Tortola men charged for trafficking close to $24 million worth of cocaine, among other offences made their first appearance in court yesterday morning and were remanded to prison to await committal proceedings.

The country’s main anti-narcotics entity, the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP), along with the Coast Guard, yesterday disclosed it made a major drug haul which netted close to $24 million worth in cocaine on the weekend.
