Decreased contributions and shrinking budgets in the face of increased administrative costs have been cited as main challenges facing the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) judiciary – resulting in proposals for an increase in fees for some of the judicial services provided.

Gender Affairs Counsellor Joy-Ann Harrigan said the legal system should be adjusted to hold accused rapists liable, especially in instances where the victim has a child due to the encounter but does not wish to proceed with the case.
