The power to conduct an examination of Stanford International Bank Limited (SIBL) never resided with Leroy King. This is according to attorney Dane Hamilton QC, who is defending King is his extradition matter.

Convicted murderers Avie Howell, 22, and Kaniel Martin, 24, were yesterday sentenced to three consecutive life sentences for killing British honeymooning couple Benjamin and Catherine Mullany and shopkeeper Wonetta Anderson.

Attorney-at-law and member of Parliament for St John’s City South Steadroy “Cutie” Benjamin said he was “vindicated” by yesterday’s Appeal Court decision that overturned a High Court ruling against him in a matter called the passport fraud case.

The jury in the triple murder trial against Avie Howell and Kaniel Martin yesterday heard evidence which placed the accused in the vicinity of the scene and around the time that British couple Benjamin and Dr Catherine Mullany were gunned down on July 27, 2008, at Cocos Hotel, south of the island.
