Twelve years after making a blunder by erasing the offence of driving without a licence from the law books, parliament has moved to correct its error.

Hundreds, if not thousands, of people convicted for driving without licences over the last 12 years may be entitled to legal redress – as government accidentally removed the offence and penalties from the Vehicles and Road Traffic Act.
