Triple murder convict Kaniel Martin has filed a notice of appeal against his conviction and the three consecutive life sentences imposed by the court after he and co-convict Avie Howell were found guilty of the shooting deaths of British couple Benjamin and Dr Catherine Mullany and shopkeeper Woneta Anderson.

Three-time convicted murderer Kaniel Martin is in trouble with the law after he allegedly stabbed fellow inmate Rashawn Shabbaz in the early hours of Friday morning.

High Court judge Justice Richard Floyd has reserved his decision against Avie Howell and Kaniel Martin, who were convicted for killing three people.

The lead forensic scientist at the Metropolitan Police Services (MPS) New Scotland Yard yesterday testified that a bloodstained shoe print found on the scene where shopkeeper Woneta Anderson was killed was “probably” made by shoes taken from murder accused Avie Howell.

The prosecution yesterday supplied more evidence of phone records for the jury which showed murder accused Kaniel Martin was in the Jolly Harbour area at 5:06 am on July 27, 2008 which was around the time when he and co-accused Avie Howell are alleged to have killed British couple Benjamin and Dr Catherine Mullany at Cocos Hotel.

The jury in the triple murder trial against Avie Howell and Kaniel Martin yesterday heard evidence which placed the accused in the vicinity of the scene and around the time that British couple Benjamin and Dr Catherine Mullany were gunned down on July 27, 2008, at Cocos Hotel, south of the island.
