A number of Barbudans are concerned over what they consider the negative image projected on the islanders following the alleged ransacking of the Beach House hotel – and some fear it may setback the hotel’s redevelopment.

Dissatisfied with how it dealt with financiers, a former senator has called on the Barbuda Council to explain why it rejected a multi-million dollar tourism investment for the island.

Barbudans, as of yesterday, began paying more for LPG gas after PDV Caribe announced it would no longer subsidise the cost of transporting the commodity to the island.

At least three prominent Barbudans, while agreeing with MP for Barbuda Trevor Walker’s suggestion to downsize Barbuda Council, disagree with his reasons for the change.
