As the LIAT saga continues, officials close to the airline are calling for an audit of the company’s spending where managers are concerned.

LIAT and its pilots’ union are at loggerheads again, with one side threatening legal action and both accusing the other of being responsible for delays in implementing the rulings of a 2008 arbitration panel.

The implementation of the arbitration’s rulings on the issues involving LIAT and the Leeward Islands Airline Pilots Association (LIALPA) is going to cost the Caribbean Airline.

LIAT has advised its pilots that it is unable to put in place all the elements of a tribunal ruling by the September 15th deadline.

Chairman of the Leeward Islands Airline Pilots Association (LIALPA) Captain Michael Blackburn is calling on LIAT’s management to fully implement by September 15 an arbitration ruling handed down almost two months ago.
