Minister of State in the Ministry of Sports Winston Williams, during his presentation on the 2012 budget debate on Wednesday, was vague about government’s budget to assist Antigua & Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) and the senior national football team ahead of their June 8, 2014 World Cup semi-finals round.

Minister of State within the Ministry of Sports, Senator Winston Williams, during a sitting of the Senate yesterday revealed that his ministry intends to sit with the Ministry of Finance in an effort to decide what degree of funding, if any, would be available to Antigua & Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) during their 2014 World Cup semi-finals round which is slated to begin on June 8, 2012.

The engine room, which oversees football in Antigua & Barbuda, will sit down as early as Thursday, ABFA General Secretary Gordon “Banks” Derrick said, to begin mapping the way forward to the 2014 World Cup.
