ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Antigua State College (ASC) showed no mercy on Antigua & Barbuda Institute of Continued Education (ABICE) when both teams met in the AUA, Cool & Smooth sponsored College League Cricket Competition on Monday at AUA Ground.
Batting first in the 25 overs-a-side tournament, ASC amassed 274 runs for six wickets. Brian Allen hit 79 and John Davis added 57 not out.
Bowling for ABICE, Azariah Francis picked up three wickets for 19.
In reply, ABICE, playing with 10 men, could only manage 85 for nine off 17.5 overs. Julio Charles top-scored with 39.
Allen, who was later named player of the match, picked up three scalps for 12, and Terrenace Hernandez took three for three as State College won by 189 runs.
The competition continues on Friday, May 4 when ABICE will come up against the AUA team at 2 pm at AUA Ground.
