Over the past five years, many people have looked forward to attending the Jubilation concerts.
However, while admitting that budgetary constraints have led to a curtailment of the artiste line-up, Chairman and Producer of Jubilation Gospel Festivals, William Dorsett is giving patrons the guarantee that Jubilation VI will deliver the same quality performances as in previous years.
?We were able to find some artistes that were willing to come for a significantly reduced figure,? he said.
?So, in terms of the event production, the cost is down, but the quality of the event will be pretty much the same, because we do have persons coming in from the US and the Caribbean region to really give the patrons a similar or even better performance.?
Dorsett said the headliner for the praise and worship concert is JJ Hairston and Youthful Praise from the United States of America.
?This group is very similar in terms of the genre or style of ministry that?s similar to past headliners like Tye Tribett, Kirk Franklin and Fred Hammond ? but the ministry and quality would be the same.?
Other artistes in the line-up are Kay Morris; Bless aka Prodigal Son; Teena Tamara; Dwayne D Murphy; and Shepherd from Jamaica, and Nigel Lewis from Trinidad and Tobago.
?On the national scene, what I call the ground squad, are Kirklin McKay and Movements for Jesus; Abe K and Christ?s Family; Cadence featuring Micah Balasu; the Nazarene Drama Team and Verity Dance Group,? Dorsett said.
?For this year, it?s going to be very militant,? the concert?s organiser told The Daily OBSERVER.
?Our theme is ?Victory? and what we?re really trying to establish or get done, is to defeat the enemy.?
?Everyone is coming to give God their very best as the nation celebrates its 28th year of Independence.?
Dorsett pointed out that the change of venue, from the Antigua Recreation Grounds to the King George V Grounds, was for reasons other than a cost-cutting measure.
?It is mainly because the Ceremonial Parade is going to be held the following morning and there would have to be some serious work teams to dismantle the Jubilation Production stage and infrastructure to facilitate a clear field the following morning,? he said.
Jubilation VI kicks off at 5 pm sharp, on Sunday, November 1. The admission is $20 and children up to a certain age will enter free of charge.
?We?re encouraging persons to come out at the start of the event because there?s going to be some very good presentations that we wouldn?t want you to miss,? Dorsett said. ?There will be adequate seating available, tents for seniors and so on to make everyone comfortable.
?So come on out and enjoy a real gospel event that can change lives of people, and do well for the nation in a positive way.?
