An Armstrong Road teen is in critical condition at Mount St John’s Medical Centre after an incident which left her nursing stab wounds to the hand and leg, while her alleged stabber, her younger sister is in police custody.
According to police reports the sisters who are 17 and 19 years old were at home at the time of the incident.
Reports indicate that the teens were getting ready to go to morning worship when an argument ensued and the younger of the two armed herself with a pair of scissors and allegedly inflicted the wounds on her sister.
Their mother was not at home at the time of the incident.
The 19 year old was rushed to hospital while her younger sister was held by police for questioning.
The young woman’s injury is considered serious, “because it appears that the stab wound to the leg punctured a vein.”
Police are investigating.
