St. John’s Antigua- Solid International Mas’ Troupe will be launching its 2012 designs for young children and teens this weekend.

Dubbed a Solid family affair, it is happening at Club Salt, formerly known as Ribbit Night Club in Perry Bay. Organisers promise lots of children’s entertainment including games and rides. Action begins at 3 pm.

The event follows the unveiling of Solid’s 2012 adult collection on May 13, when eight adult sections were showcased under the theme, “A Mythical Adventure.”

“Like all times, the band offers an element not seen before, delivering a different flavour to our annual summer festival, merging cultural, creativity, interpretation and fashion into one entity,” a Solid release said.

Solid was introduced in 2007. The band has since established a reputation for creating unique and attractive costumes.

The mas’ camp is located at Campsite, north of the PriceWaterhouseCoopers building. Designer is Chandy Lewis.
