Prospective law enforcement officers are about to undergo lie detector tests. Security officers are being made to undergo certification. I’m glad we’re finally applying some standards to professionals within the security industry.

Persons who are entering such fields should by right be screened and tested for their abilities.

If they’re going to be trusted with upholding the law, protecting and serving, then their backgrounds should be sparkling.

I’ve heard about security officers working here with tarnished backgrounds from their homelands.

Sometimes I wonder if some of them are indeed able to defend themselves. I’ve seen them in all shapes, sizes and conditions, pregnant and all … I’m not so sure a pregnant woman should be working as a security guard.

Anyways, changes in national security are way overdue and it’s great that they’re being addressed.
