ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Swimmers, runners and others in Antigua & Barbuda can now sign up for the Tinman Rohr Aquathlon & 10k swim slated for Saturday, March 9, at Turners Beach.

The event includes two competitive options: the aquathlon – which involves a 2,000m swim and 10km run for teams/individuals – and the 10km swim for individuals.

The races will pit Antigua & Barbuda’s best swimmers and runners against some of the world’s best international and Olympic triathletes from the USA and France.

It will also offer a compelling challenge for fitness persons hoping to finish the race. Competitors can access registration forms at www.antiguatinmantriathlon.com.

Completed forms and payment can be delivered to the National Olympic Committee on the corner of Redcliffe and Market streets.

It is the second international event being hosted by the Wadadli Triathlon Club and follows the Tinman Rohr Triathlon in January, 2012.

The event is again being hosted in memory of former AUA student and triathlete Jonathan Rohr, who was one of the events original founders before he passed away.

President of the Wadadli Triathlon Club Cleofoster Harris said a special tribute is being planned to remember Jonathan Rohr.

The Tinman Rohr Aquathlon & 10k Swim is sponsored by the American University of Antigua (AUA), Observer Media Group, Horizons Supplies Limited, LIME, Big Banana Ltd/The Larder, Pepsi/Aquafina, 365Antigua, Barbuda Express and Cedars Pottery.

It’s also endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism, National Olympic Committee, Antigua & Barbuda Triathlon Association and the Antigua & Barbuda Swimming Federation.
