Dear Editor
I read in your paper of a recent autopsy report conducted on a young English woman, who reportedly drowned while trapped in quicksand on an Antiguan beach.
To the family of that young woman, I extend my condolences, and trust that they will soon overcome their grief.
As a matter of concern, I have never heard of such an incident in Antigua involving quicksand, or for that matter, rising tides to the extent of covering an adult standing upright on a beach.
Your article stated that, “deaths after becoming trapped in sand in Antigua are extremely rare.” But have you ever heard of such a case, other than what we view on TV?
