Police seize more than 100,000 grams of cocaine

ROSEAU, Dominica, Aug 10, CMC – Dominica police say two people are assisting their investigations after they seized more than 100,000 grams of cocaine during an operation at sea on Thursday night.

 

Police public relations officer, Inspector John Carbon, said that the seizure occurred several miles off the coast of the capital after the Coast Guard and members of the Drug Squad of the Marine Unit intercepted an open keel boat, “Just in Time” at around 10.30 pm (local time).

The police, gave no value of the drugs seized, but added that the boat was powered by two 200 HP engines.

Meanwhile, law enforcement officials say they have destroyed more than 11,700 marijuana trees following an operation in Carholm, west of here, on Thursday.
