16 July, 2012, ST JOHN’S, Antigua – While defending themselves against criticism, lawmen are themselves pointing fingers.
The family of 13 year old Anisha Millette who was found dead a week ago, allege that police failed to respond appropriately to their calls for help.
But Senior Sargeant William Holder of Stratcom says the claim is unfair since the police had requested a picture to publish some time ago, but that was not forthcoming from the family.
In a separate interview with Observer Media, the girl’s mother admitted that Lawmen did make a request for Anisha’s picture to put in the newspaper. She explained that that at the time she was not “ready for that.”
The body of the teen was discovered at Devil’s Bridge but was only identified after lawmen published a sketch.
He told Observer Media moments ago that the Force takes all cases of missing persons seriously.

Chups…Parents must take responsible for then children and tap blame people. She was not ready to put the child’s picture in the Paper? ha! They just want to blame someone. I am sorry for their lost but Parents need to take responsible for their children and stop relying on Teachers and police officers to do everything. She was only 13 years old. Really Soon that she died but I hope this will teach us that we need to guide the youths.
