St. John’s Antigua- Pigotts have captured the ACB, Parish League, Sir Vivian Richards American Airlines Thursday League title. They accomplished the feat when they hammered Diamonds International Police by eight wickets in the finals at Factory Grounds yesterday.
Winning the toss, Police took the crease but were bundled out for 67 runs in 14.3 overs. All the batsmen went cheaply by some poor strokes.
Owen Graham was the only batsman to achieve double figures with 44 runs.
Bowling for Pigotts, Stephan “Tower” Matthew claimed three for 15; Dean Williams took two for 16; Rakeem “Jimbo” Cornwall captured three for 23, and Anthony “Butters” Lake nabbed two for 11.
In reply, Pigotts put 68 for two on the scoreboard off 16.1 overs. Otis Thomas scored 13 not out; Cornwall hit 21 and Sylvester “Bouncing” Joseph added 19 not out. Austin Richards Jr picked up one wicket for 25 runs.
This is Pigotts’ third title for the season. They also captured the ACB, Parish League Richie Richardson and Dave Joseph titles.
It was sweet revenge for Pigotts since Police had beaten them twice this season in the Thursday League.
