ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Defending imobile Premier Division champions Asot’s Arcade Parham, recorded only their second victory of the Antigua & Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) 2011-12 season, when they defeated former champions Sugar Ridge Sap, 2-0, in the lone fixture played at Antigua Recreation Grounds (ARG) on Sunday.

The Parham squad has played six matches to date and moved onto seven points after the victory, while Sap remained on eight points after five matches.

Grenadian midfielder Ricky Charles opened the scoring in the 81st minute after both teams had gone scoreless for most of the encounter.

“The Boys from Brazil” secured the three points just eight minutes later when the young Garry Harriett scored from close range to hand Sap their first loss of the competition to date.

The encounter saw the resumption of the country’s top league following weeks of postponement due to persistent rains.

Fixtures in the competition that were slated for Thursday had to be postponed due to a pitch outfield.

The competition was slated to continue yesterday with a double-header.
