Pares FC recorded a 12-0 victory over Tryum in the Antigua & Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) Second Division football competition on Monday as they took their tally of points to 26 in the number 15 position in the standings of the 20-team competition.

Carrie Benjamin found the back of the net on eight different occasions as he led his team’s onslaught of the Tryum squad, while Chamoy Carr had a double strike.

Romario Gomes and Edward Samuel both netted in the huge victory.

Tryum remain on 19 points after 17 matches.

Meanwhile, Five Islands FC won by default over Real Blizzard who failed to turn up for their scheduled encounter on their own home turf.

Reports are that referees, after waiting for some time, blew off the contest as no one from the Real Blizzard FC bothered to show, while there were no nets on the goal posts.

Three points and three goals have therefore been awarded to Five Islands.

In the other contest played on Monday, Ambassadors had the better of Bendals by a 4-2 margin. Ambassadors moved onto 19 points after 17 matches in the competition, while Bendals remain on eight points after 18 matches.

The competition continues today when Lion Hill play Police at Golden Grove, and 5P’s play Shotguns at Johnston’s.

Matches will start at 4:20 pm.
