Pacesetters win again

St. John’s Antigua- Courts Pacesetters recorded yet another victory in the A Division of the Cool & Smooth Sponsored National Netball League at YMCA Sports Complex on Tuesday night when they defeated Ivy Leagures, 27-8.

Leading the way for the victors was goal shoot Mikylah Willis and goal attack Karrie Knight who combined for a total of 27 goals, while goal shoot Reeba Challenger had one of four attempts for the losers.

Also for Ivy Leaguers, goal attacks Kamera Mattis and Sharon Christopher had four of 14 and three of four, respectively.

In another exciting A Division match-up, Eagles defeated Black Lighting, 19-8, after both teams were deadlocked at three-all by the end of the first quarter.

For the victors, goal shoot Ruby Williams sank eight of her 15 attempts, while goal attack Christine Mills hit 11 of her 14 attempts.

In a losing effort, Paul Jackson recorded two of 11 in the goal attack position while Amey Lake hit eight of her 18 in the goal attack position.

There were also match-ups in the B Division as Black Lightning defeated Antergets 20-3 in the opening contest.

Goal shoot Maurica Lewis hit 15 of her 22 attempts for the winner and was ably assisted by goal attack Ivalin Murrain who had five of her seven attempts.

On the losing side, goal shoot Urine Roberts scored her only attempt, while goal attack Adisa Thomas had two of her three attempts.

In the other B Division contest, Potters defeated Eagles, 17-3. Goal shoot Raphelene Samuel sank 13 of her 31 attempts for the winners with goal attacks Alicia John and Jennifer Simon had one of three and three of 15, respectively.

For the losers, goal shoot Tenesha Francis had one of three and goal attack Jacara Browne snatched two of seven.

Action in the competition continues with a double-header on Thursday night. (By Neto Baptiste)
