St. John’s Antigua- Ottos Officials and ABBA Stars were victorious in high-scoring Division 2 encounters on Wednesday night in the Cool & Smooth, Stag Beer, Antigua & Barbuda Basketball Association matches.
Playing at JSC Sports Complex in the first of two matches, Officials narrowly edged out Police Spartans, 83-82.
Kevin Roberts scored a game-high 48 points and chipped in five rebounds for good measure.
He was assisted by Karis Jacobs who had 13 points and eight rebounds, and Fitzroy Francis’ 11 points, eight rebounds and five steals.
Dwayne Samuel contributed 20 points and 10 rebounds; Craig Davis added 22 points; Dale Gore, 14 points and five assists, and Kobey Henry 10 points for the vanquished Police Spartans.
In the second game, ABBA Stars won by a wider margin, 92-84, over Harold Lovell Rockersville.
Devon Benjamin also reached the 40-point mark that evening, as he shot 41 points for the Stars. Stephen McDonald assisted him with 11 points and seven assists.
On the losing end, Sam Brazier produced 13 points, 14 rebounds, and seven assists; Walton Christian added 18 points and 13 rebounds, while both Wayne Coates and A Lee scored 19 points for Rockersville. (By Vanroy Burnes)
