ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Police have arrested one of their own along with two civilians who they suspect were allegedly involved in the theft and stripping of a motorcar over the weekend.
Sources told OBSERVER Media the officer and two other men were seen removing the parts from a white Toyota Corolla in the Cassada Gardens area and the police were informed.
When the lawmen arrived on the scene to investigate, the individuals reportedly fled.
The police combed the area and their colleague was nabbed and taken into custody at Police Headquarters. The other two men were also caught and taken to the police facility.
All three were reportedly quizzed about the vehicle and the removal of the main parts to include the seats, battery and other parts under the bonnet.
Further investigations revealed the car was stolen just days before the trio was seen with it. Up to press time no charges had been laid.
