July 27, 2012, St John’s Antigua – A brief session of parliament on Friday passed three motions without much fuss.
Two of the motions were to make 5 representatives members of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States Assembly which will have its inaugural sitting here on August 10th.
The five members are Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer, Jacqui Quinn-Leandro, and Harold Lovell on the government side and from the opposition are leader Lester Bird and Gaston Browne.
The third motion established a standing parliamentary committee to oversee the work of the director of the Office of National Drug Control and Money Laundering Policy.
The committee’s main job will be to review the ONDCP director’s reports and recommendations.
Parliament will resume its sitting on Monday.
