Arturo Tappin, one of the Caribbean’s noted saxophone players, will be headlining a fund-raiser entitled “Music For Life” on Sunday, June 2, at Sugar Ridge.
The concert is a fund-raiser for Island Academy’s scholarship programme.
Tappin has entertained audiences at the Soho Jazz Festival, the Bob Marley Birthday Bash and Reggae Sunsplash as well as headlining jazz festivals throughout the Caribbean. He has also performed for two American presidents.
“Music For Life” will showcase the best of Caribbean music with timeless rhythms and will also feature pannist Lacu Samuel and the Kuttin Edge Band, Itchy Feet and the musical talent of the students of Island Academy.
The fund-raising event is sponsored by AS Bryden, Sugar Ridge, OBSERVER Media Group, ABS Radio & Television and NMI Promotions. General admission is $50 and $150 for VIP admission. Tickets are available at Xtreme Health & Fitness, The Larder and Sugar Ridge.
