St. John’s Antigua- The National Under-17 Girls team resumed training last week in preparation for the Women’s Under-20 Continental Volleyball Championship in Nicaragua from August 19 to 27.
The national team is also the reigning Eastern Caribbean Under-17 Girls Champions after capturing the title in St Maarten last year.
The continental championship is the next stage of the tournament.
Coach Rosalie Lewis said practice sessions resumed last Thursday from 3 pm to 4 pm and another training exercise was held on Saturday from 2 pm to 4 pm.
The training sessions are expected to continue take place every Thursday and Saturday at the same time.
The team in training comprised Jenna Greer, Themara Tyson, Shakyra Cornelius, Morgen Halstead, Natasha Best, Thandi Ferris, Kaviesha Watkins, Zellene Edwards, Loren Gomez, Lincy Cruz, Shakea Martin, Jorrey Martin, Ashley Ashterman, Tiffany Polladin, Kendra Pierre, Jess St John and Sharifa Simmons.
